Accommodation |
|
"Bure" pronounced ’mbooh-ray’ is the Fijian word for house or dwelling. A typical Fijian village consists of a number of bures. From the chiefly bure to the commoner bure, all these thatched structures are simple yet elegant in design and stature. Each bure in the village is a large one room villa, housing the kitchen, dining room, living room and bedroom without any partitioning walls. Bures in a Fijian village are so spaced that ’though they seem very close to each other, each maintains a sense of individuality and privacy. The word ’bure’ is both intimate and homely when used in everyday conversations among Fijians.
We have thus chosen to refer to our villa type accommodation as "bures", and in so doing, provide our guests with a true sense of belonging in experiencing an exotic ’home away from home’.
The 160 accommodation that spangle the Resort property include 83 Tropical Garden bure type, 32 Hotel Room type and 20 Bure type in the Deluxe category, 18 Executive Bure type and 7 Honeymoon Bure type.
